New Apple MacBook Pro – Here is What You Need to Know
Apple updated its MacBook Pro range in October 2016, describing it as the thinnest, lightest and most powerful New Apple MacBook Pro. The machine includes a new Touch Bar interface above the keyboard, an AMD graphics chip for photos, videos and 3D works, a huge touchpad and compelling new features. Later in 2017, just about eight months later, Apple refurbished the MacBook Pro with Kaby Lake processors (7th generation Intel Core i-series CPUs) and new GPUs. Apple also introduced the new low price 13” MacBook Pro without Touch Bar with a 128GB SSD.
The new MacBook Pro is thinner, lighter and smaller than the previous generation models and is available in 13” and 15” sizes. The design changes were made possible through a new thermal architecture. Here is everything that comes with this new offering.

Talking about the touch bar, an innovative OLED retina display is equipped on the top of keyboard in both 13 and 15 inch models. This is a glass strip that provides instant access to most of the essential controls and buttons. You may consider it as an attempt by Apple to replace the function keys with a better logical approach. In some applications like Final Cut Pro, Safari and Keynote, users can customize the touch bar according to convenience. The useful functions of this bar includes volume & brightness control, answer to connected iPhone’s call, quick access to emoji panel, function keys access and color selection for graphics editing. For professionals, this touch sensing display strip is much productive as compared to any previous model.
The Touch Bar gives users an instant and intuitive connection to the content, surfacing the commands that were previously hidden deep in menus and making them more readily accessible and customizable. On the right side is a control strip which offers quick access to system features like brightness, volume, and Siri. On the left side, the Touch Bar offers contextual functions that change from app to app. Not only that, the Touch Bar can support 10 simultaneous inputs enabling many potential creative options in third-party apps.
The Power button has been replaced by Touch ID button to turn your machine on and authorize your Mac. It is located to the far right of the Touch Bar and connects to the Mac’s T1 Secure Enclave chip which encrypts fingerprints and keeps it offline.
The brand new design and evolution in security measures has made this MacBook more productive and less vulnerable to potential threats.

While the Touch Bar may be the most eye-grabbing feature on the MacBook Pro, the giant Touchpad (trackpad) is no less. It is another key addition introduced in the new Apple MacBook Pros. It has a larger surface area than the iPhone screen and has a typically amazing responsiveness and multi-finger control. The Touchpad is paired with a flat keyboard and has a learning curve to typing comfortably. The keyboard has a butterfly mechanism which was previously seen in 12” MacBook.
Old versions of MacBook Pro had USB 3.0 ports, MagSafe ports, Thunderbolt 3 ports and USB Type-C ports. But with the new ones, Apple has decided to drop the MagSafe and USB ports supporting only 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports. Thunderbolt 3 combines ultra-high bandwidth with the ultra-versatility of the USB-C to create one revved up a universal port. All of the ports are identical and can be used for the same functions, so each one can be used to power the machine. All ports support Thunderbolt, USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA.
With so many new features the new MacBook Pro is priced high, but there are cheaper options as well.
