SEO is not something that you can compromise on; it takes a good amount of time to achieve better optimization & results. SEO doesn’t stop at the point where you’ve submitted your sites to search engines and found them indexed, in fact, it’s just the beginning. Effective SEO is all about making sure your content & your site is accessible to search engines all the way possible.
Once you’ve created your site and published some content, it’s time to create a checklist and follow through for SEO optimization. This should be done every time your website content gets updated, just to make sure everything’s in its place & working the way it should.
Effective SEO Tips
All these years of site development and an intensive time spent on search engines, I learned some important points after which I created a checklist of SEO items to follow every time I update or write content on a site. This is to make sure I never forfeit any guiding lines. So if you want content that is optimized for SEO, here’s the list of effective SEO tips I found useful and have used over the years for getting good SEO results.
1. Prepare your Website Content Roadmap
Your site will never reach its optimum potential if you haven’t prepared your content roadmap. The first thing before you create a site is the content it’ll have, as we all the content is the king in the SEO valley but it’s also important that we make sure our site name conveys the meaning of the content we share on our site.
Although, the site name and content information are two different things but you should know yourself that the last time you searched for some content and clicked on a result which you thought was most relevant to the topic. How did you find that result to be relevant to your topic? What was the metrics you used to select a link from the result?
I guess the first thing you noticed was the name of the site and the authority & then the description of the result. Well, it’s all a mind-set on how we justify things, yet justification never stops. Thus, a website has to have a content roadmap in order to succeed in the first and important step of justification.
It’s recommended that you create a topic of things on which you will cover information and content on your site. In this way, you’ll soon be able to analyze the keywords relevant to your topics and niche, which will help you focus more on your content creation & indexing.
2. Mention your niche keywords where they matter most
It’s important that your site follows the keywords most suitable for your niche. Look for keywords for your content using any online keyword research tool. There are many free tools available for keyword research, the one I use myself is SEO Book’s, Keyword Tool.
Try to use these keywords, wherever in your content they fit the best or as you prefer yet also make sure that you don’t compromise your content quality just to include popular keywords. The suggested amount of keywords in a 1000 word article is 5 to 10 depending on the content.
These keywords can be used anywhere in the blog title, description, categories, tags, page titles, post titles and in the main content.
3. Link to internal pages of your site
A responsive site and a good content site are rendered by how you display & link your content with every available page or source. Many of the popular sites do this to improve SEO and get better reading results, just by interlinking keywords or content to the relevant source of the site.
It’s fairly a great way to provide content optimization on the site. This way your users get to see what other relevant content your site has got and will also improve overall hits, lower bounce rates, and better search engine ranking.
4. Add Images and use their alt-tags to frame keywords
One of the important tasks in SEO optimization is using images efficiently. Images are one of the easiest ways to get traffic and better search engine results. Search engines like Google, Bing, etc. have their own image search tools which link images while indexing your site and result back to the users who search for them. Once your site has images it’ll be automatically rendered with the site indexing, these images redirect a huge amount of traffic and users who try to find them one way or the other.
Having images is not enough if they aren’t even titled correctly. Images won’t work perfectly if their title doesn’t reflect the information they have, such as “fdalj54.jpg” is not the way you should title your images instead an image should be written in the keyword of its meaning e.g. For an image of Computer Graphic “computer-graphic.jpg”.
The important part which the search engines look for indexing your site images is the ALT-tag; it’s an acronym for Alternative title tag. Every image used must have an alt-tag with the most relevant keyword to it, this will increase its indexing on image searching tools as well as your site’s search engine ranking.

5. Link to other sites for Resource inter-linking
Linking to other relevant site sources is a good idea if you want to show up in the search engines as an authority for resource lookup. Search engines also rank sites by the rate of clicks a page has got in terms of links and redirection. Once your users find a good reason to click on the interlinked sites you have on your pages, your site will also improve its ranking in search engine results.
6. Make sure your site pages are indexed properly
The one thing that is seriously effective to traffic loss is indexing for 404’s. You should maintain a timely check-up of your site pages and indexing for any site errors and 404 pages. If a 404 occurs remember to redirect it back to a healthy page on your site. Every search engine has their own webmaster tools which help you find your site errors and search engine problems, just make sure you fix them as soon as they occur. This may adversely affect your search engine traffic loss and help you balance a good amount of traffic your site has.
